DIRECTV has announced it’s giving Android users a much-needed TV app update, allowing them to stream channels from other devices, including Apple TV and Roku.
Users can stream DIRECTV NOW content through the DIRECTV App on Android, iOS, and Windows 10 devices.
DIRECTV’s app for iOS allows users to create an account, select a favorite channel, and create a playlist for that channel.
The app also lets users download a live feed of their favorite channels.
The Android app will be available from the Google Play store later this week, but Apple TV users will have to sign in to the app.
Directv Now on iOS is still in beta, so it’s not clear how many users have already signed up to receive the update.
But a recent study from research firm Gartner estimated that between 2.8 and 4.4 million people will install the app on their devices this year.
The update also makes it easier for users to set up and manage multiple DIRECTV Now devices in their home.
